Floating on the Hunte River in Oldenburg, Germany this small dwelling is sitting on water and nicely integrated into its surrounding wooded landscape. Built by Confused-Direction Design, a single pitch roof is permeated with a dormer which allows daylight into the lofted bedroom which is accessed with a ladder stair. Room arrangements, materials, and textures all designed to work together to create clear, warm and bright feeling for its residents. Specially made for its smallest inhabitants, the pet cats have their own bedrooms connected to the common spaces of the house. A centrally located bullerjan oven heats the interior through a method of convection of heated air; locally sourced larch wood covers the boat house and floor surfaces.
