This exposed vacation home is actually plainly meant as an architectural work of art. Planted in the lush countryside of western Australia is the “Holiday Home for Terrorists” by German artist Thomas Schutte. Never conceived for guests, this exquisite home reveals harmonious views of nature from every angle with its all around wall of windows. Colorful drapes cascade bounds of fabric making privacy optional.  It has been luxuriously equipped for no one with hardwood floors throughout, a full bath and kitchen, electricity and intentional concrete dividing walls.

The owner of the property is Polish art dealer Rafael Jablonka, who had the home build in response to the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center. He found it surprising how officials immediately cast blame on the architectural integrity of the buildings.  He rebuttals with this criticism on contemporary architecture.

I find a way to fearlessly provoke your senses and take you by the heart to whatever it is I’m writing about. My sweet spot is creative writing, but for the last 20 years I have been providing freelance content for publications on sustainability and green practices, design, architecture, fashion, and non-profit charity. Recently all wrapped up in producing my first book. I have bounced from NYC to Indianapolis, but my true home is a lovely small town in Central Pennsylvania where there’s a legit drive-your-tractor-to-school-day.
