An ingenious modular backpack and travel bag design you’ll want to take with you everywhere.

Established by Hong Kong-based studio Pinn, Oda is a new brand that aims to make products for better living, working, and traveling. Their first product fulfills all of these goals, and then some. Designed by Benjamin Hubert of London-based Layer Design, Hop is a cleverly engineered modular backpack and travel bag system that effectively provides a 3-in-1 product. Created with travelers in mind, the Hop bag design features an everyday backpack and shoulder bag with an ingenious magnetic attachment system that allows the user to easily bring the two together in a spacious and beautifully streamlined weekender bag.

Perfect for everyday use, the modular backpack is lightweight and comfortable as well as versatile thanks to a minimalist design. It features a padded pocket that can easily hold a 16’’ MacBook Pro and easy access pockets. Both the water-resistant zippers and panels bring peace of mind. The patent-pending Hop magnetic connection system allows the user to snap the backpack and shoulder bag together in a larger travel bag that is compatible with the carry-on rules of all major airlines.

Magnetic dividers allow custom space organization, while the reinforced build and water-resistant materials protect the contents at all times. Thanks to the quick-release magnetic buckle, you can easily separate the backpack from the shoulder bag as needed. An especially handy feature in situations where you need a lighter bag and you don’t want to re-pack. Oda launched the Hop modular backpack and travel bag system through Kickstarter in a Black and Khaki version. Backers can grab early bird packages, limited to 200, and get their new favorite travel bags by August, 2020. The stretch goals include more colors for the bags, for more customization options. The campaign ends on March 12, 2020. Photographs© Oda.
