Paris-based designer Francesco Balzano creates minimalist products that celebrate simplicity and the purity of clean lines. He often uses solid wood and natural rock to design timeless products that have a strong character; from a simple stool made of eucalyptus to a colossus-like, green marble coffee table. Designed for Studio Twentyseven, the limited-edition M5 Daybed follows the same design principles. Sculptural and elegant, it has a monumental presence and a build that blends both Carnico black marble and Patricia green marble. The daybed’s minimalist design highlights the beauty of marble while also ensuring that it fits into any decor. A felt material covers the lounge section to enhance the feeling of comfort.
As practical as it is refined, the daybed features a storage unit at the front as well as six separate bookshelves at the back. The user can place a smartphone, tablet, or a drink on the spacious top. Safe to say, this design can make any interior look more sophisticated and comfortable at the same time. Crafted in France by Ateliers Saint-Jacques, the M5 Daybed comes in a series of 12 pieces, all signed and numbered. Each daybed also comes with a certificate of authenticity. The M5 Daybed is available through the website of the NYC and Miami-based gallery Studio Twentyseven, with prices available on request. Photographs© Studio Twentyseven.
