Methow Cabin by Eggleston Farkas Architects

The snowy winter season has descended upon the earth, but for the residents of Methow Cabin in Winthrop, Washington, the cold cannot compare with the warmth and luxury offered by the humble abode. Designed by Eggleston Farkas Architects, the two-story retreat provides views of the valley, capturing snapshots of cross-country skiers through strip windows placed in the cedar wood façade. The interiors, also wooden, glow with soft illumination from small lighting fixtures and a working fireplace in the living room. Not to fall victim to the snowfall, the sloped roof of the long house ends at a backyard porch that provides another natural vantage point.
