A refined update of an elegant watch that puts a focus on both timeless style and craftsmanship.

Based in Glasgow, anOrdain makes beautiful watches that draw inspiration from UK’s natural and cultural landscapes. The independent watchmakers have recently updated their popular Model 1 watch with a series of elegant tweaks. Aptly named New Model 1, the watch boasts the same 38mm case and the signature handcrafted vitreous enamel on copper dial. Made by hand in a process that lasts at least 12 hours and takes many years of experience to complete perfectly, the dial showcases anOrdain’s dedication to craftsmanship. Indeed, the brand is one of few watchmakers that produce enamel dials in-house, outside of Switzerland and Japan.

Apart from the dial, the New Model 1 features new steel hands handmade in small batches and individually heat-treated. The upgraded numerals and indices are still inspired by the cartographic maps of the picturesque Highlands in Scotland. Now, they have an improved design that maximizes both legibility and the dial’s visual balance. This version keeps the original’s Sellita SW-200 movement with the Incabloc shock protection.

Other features include the sapphire glass crystal with six layers of anti-reflective coating, water-resistance for up to 5 ATM, and a 5-year warranty. The New Model 1 watch comes in several color options: Iron Cream, Post Office Red, Parisian Blue, Teal, and Pink. Each model costs £1,200, or around $1,540. Photographs© anOrdain.
