The Orbit Series By ANDlight

Minimal Modern lighting inspired by the solar system.

Vancouver-based design studio and lighting manufacturer ANDlight has a penchant for challenging expectations via original concepts. The Orbit series is a great example. Looking beyond Canadian landscapes and mountain peaks, this range of minimal light fixtures draws inspiration from planetary orbits going around the sun. The designs feature an elegant and distinctly modern aesthetic. Glass globes that reference the sun glow inside wire cages reminiscent of the paths followed by the planets.

“The glowing globe is iconic in lighting. So simple and effective, It of course resembles the original light source – the sun. Orbit is a direct response to this, with its metal cage functionally protecting the glass as well giving it an aesthetical reference point while also referring back to the sun and our own orbit around it,” says designer Lukas Peet. The table and the pendant lights come with a dimmable LED light source. Both versions feature either black or a white textured powder coat finish, while the table lights also come with white or black marble bases. The Canadian brand will launch the Orbit series at this year’s Milan Design Week, on April 17th, 2018. Photographs© ANDlight.
