Patagonia Lodge by Cooprogetti Arquitectos

View all 22 Photos

Influenced in form by traditional ranches in Chile, Patagonia Lodge provides weary travelers and enthusiastic vacationers with a setting from which to enjoy the glorious views of Villa O’Higgins. The lodge, designed by Cooprogetti Arquitectos, displays a definite contrast between exterior and interior; the dark, cool blue of the gabled figures blends the lodge’s three components into the mountainous backdrop, while the warm ambers of the wooden furnishings accented by colorful red rugs create a homey space. The colonial veranda is a cultural classic incorporated in the design; as the three volumes of the lodge frame a courtyard space, the verandas communicate with one another, each providing a different vantage point of the landscape.
