Space Project by Vincent Fournier

Vincent Fournier demonstrates that truth is at least as strange as fiction with his “Space Project” debuting at the London Art Fair this month. The Brussels-based photographer (and apparent networking genius) has, for the past decade and a half, visited government bases and training grounds. Inspired by sci-fi and utopian visions, Fournier’s photos—of the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center, the Mars Desert Research Station in Utah, and the Atacama Desert Observatories in Chile—blur the line between reality and imagination. His access to sights that few ever see, coupled with a visionary style, makes for a series of truly alien prints.
