Marià Castelló

Formentera, Spain

Architect Marià Castelló founded his studio in 2002, the same year he graduated with a degree in architecture from ETSAB. Located on the Formentera Island, Spain, the multidisciplinary practice aims to provide a counterpoint to the rapid urban development of the area. The studio’s projects respond to the local culture and natural landscape, minimizing their impact on the land and celebrating the heritage of the island. Apart from residential properties, the studio also completes restoration projects that give new life to historical structures. Marià Castelló’s work has been published in numerous international magazines and has been exhibited at the Venice Biennale in 2012, as part of the Catalan Pavilion.
