The Elian E-drive Cargo Bike

An expertly built, custom cargo bike designed with comfort and durability in mind.

Based in The Netherlands, Elian Cycles has been making handcrafted, custom commuter, tour, and cargo bikes for eight years. In 2019, the company launched their first electric model: the Elian E-drive cargo bike. Designed with riding comfort, efficiency, and durability in mind, the bike comes with an ultra silent Neodrives motor that is both powerful and low maintenance. The smooth and stable direct drive motor has a patented torque sensor, giving the user a feeling of riding effortlessly, even with a fully loaded bike.

Placed in the rear wheel, the motor eliminates the need for a chain and derailleur, thus reducing the risk of breakdowns, making maintenance easier, and prolonging the life of the bike. The Elian E-drive also comes with a custom, patented steering hub that provides great balance and control, an expertly engineered Chromoly steel frame, and a Neodrives 612Wh/36V battery that provides assistance for a range of up to 120 km. The rider can see the settings at a glance and choose between five support modes. At the front, the large cargo area provides plenty of space for bags, children’s seats, or dog carrier. Finally, the bike features three layers of powder coated paint to keep the frame protected for decades.

Elian Cycles builds every E-drive cargo bike to order with the help of a small team of experienced professionals. However, as every bike features custom measurements, finishes, and options, the team builds only 40 one-of-a-kind bikes per year. Optional features may include anything from changing the handlebars to adding a rain cover.
