Founded two years ago, Thousand Helmets has already moved past its original goal of creating safe bike helmets which actually look good. Now, the Los Angeles-based brand is well on its way to change the way riders think about helmets by making well-designed products that tell a story. Case in point? The company’s second range, released on the anniversary of the Thousand brand. “We wanted to tell our story authentically and felt that our second anniversary was an opportunity to progress our brand,” says Gloria Hwang, co-founder of Thousand. “We believe that the story behind the product is as important as the product,” she adds.

Unsurprisingly, the helmets look gorgeous. They have a minimalist silhouette, elegant detailing and fresh, versatile colors. The range pays homage to heritage design. Sources of inspiration include Steve McQueen and the Bel Air Cadillac as well as Scandinavian modernism. Speedway Creme boasts two red and blue stripes, Willowbrook has an eye-catching mint color, while Nordic Wood features a wood texture created with color water dipped technology.

Apart from looking beautiful, the collection also comes with a set of ingenious features. The secret PopLock system allows riders to leave their helmet safely secured to the bike. Seven air vents and three cooling channels provide optimum airflow, while two sets of interior padding ensure superior comfort. Vegan leather straps as well as a convenient magnetic buckle complete the design. All helmets from this second collection come with a bike helmet theft guarantee. The brand will replace any products that are stolen while locked to the bike with the PopLock System. Head over to the brand’s website to browse through the range and select your new favorite helmet.
