In the business of innovation, freedom of ideas and communication is surely a motivator for success. TTArchitects approached the design of Kawanishi Fam with this mentality, and incorporated a spatial freedom into the design of the shared workspace. Located in Japan’s Okayama prefecture, Kawanishi Fam is a repurposing of a warehouse; though the space still features the high ceiling, gabled roof, and array of windows, entrepreneurs make use of the open-plan office. The office features glass screens to maintain the continuity of space, and the only enclosed space is a smaller wooden room – with a geometrically similar section – for washrooms and storage.
