We love the minimal watches made by Glasgow-based Instrmnt. Naturally, the news of the brand’s collaboration with British fashion designer Christopher Raeburn made our week. The Instrmnt X Christopher Raeburn 01-CR Watch features the simple elegance and sleek aesthetic of the company’s previous collections, but now has a deeper meaning behind its design. The strap takes inspiration from old silk maps used by the army to escape from behind enemy lines back in the ‘50s. The textured surface of the British calf leather strap provides the perfect counterpoint to the smooth face, while the blue or gray color complements the light pink tone of the second hand.

This limited edition timepiece also features a 40mm brushed silver steel case, PVD coating for scratch-resistance, a sapphire crystal glass, and a Swiss Ronda movement. Each watch comes in a silk travel bag that boasts a unique pattern, depending on the original map’s design. We’ll keep an eye on the 01-CR Watch, which will make its debut later this year.
