A modern house that celebrates tradition and nature.
This contemporary house is located in a gorgeous natural landscape that includes the Sea of Galilee lake as well the Mount Canaan and the old town of Safed. To maximize the views, Golany Architects leveled the plot of land and the garden while ensuring that the changes have minimal impact on the environment and the surrounding area. As a result, Residence In The Galilee naturally blends into the landscape. A great example of modern architecture in Israel, the house boasts large openings that frame the spectacular views. Wooden shutters provide privacy while also allowing the inhabitants to enjoy the panorama. The sliding slats shelter the interior against the heat of the sun and help to maintain a cooler indoor temperature at the same time. Recessed windows and doors improve climate control while creating shaded outdoor spaces.
Throughout the house, the carefully positioned windows and glazed walls capture stunning views. At the front, they open towards the crystalline blue lake and vegetation; at the rear, they frame the mountains and the town. The open-plan spaces and the minimal décor enhance the airy atmosphere and accentuate the link to nature.
