Pine Needles Blanket: An Ode to Nature and Sustainability

A soft and warm pure new wool blanket inspired by pine needles.

Established by Julie and Mika Tolvanen of Studio Tolvanen, Finnish brand Pidät makes gorgeous home accessories that pay homage to Nordic design principles. The new Pidät Pine Needles blanket is a great example of the brand’s style. Taking inspiration from the breathtaking landscapes of New Zealand, the blanket references fallen pine needles that cover trails, whether beside a lake, in a woodland, or on the snow. A perfect blend of warmth, sustainability, and craftsmanship, this product goes beyond mere aesthetic appeal to become a symbol of environmental consciousness.

Premium Materials and Ethical Sourcing.

The Pine Needles blanket is woven from 100% ethically sourced New Zealand wool, renowned for its superior natural fibers. The Wool Integrity NZ accreditation of Pidät’s suppliers guarantees the traceability of the wool back to its origin. This means that every step of the process maintains high standards of animal welfare, employee well-being, and environmental responsibility. Additionally, the wool comes with Interiors Pure New Wool and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certifications that attest to its premium quality and purity.

Warm, Organic Design Meets Traditional Craftsmanship.

Each Pine Needles blanket features the same V-shaped forms as well as fringe detailing. The design comes in three colorways: Trail (ochre and sand), Snow (natural white and green), and Lake (light blue and yellow). Measuring 1300 x 1700mm (or 51” x 67”), each blanket is woven in Lithuania, reflecting the country’s rich textile history. The minimalist design, a signature style of the designers, makes it a versatile addition to any interior. It effortlessly complements different decor styles while also adding a warm, natural touch to living spaces. The blanket is also perfect as an eco-friendly gift.

The Creators of the Pine Needles Blanket.

The Pine Needles blanket was designed by Studio Tolvanen, a Helsinki-based design office known for their innovative and minimalist work. Conceptualized by husband-and-wife team, Julie and Mika Tolvanen, the design captures the spirit of nature and translates it into a practical, stylish piece of home decor that also celebrates the concept of sustainability.
