Schindelhauer brings its clean belt-drive city bike formula to a 20-inch format, with singlespeed, geared, and electric versions.
Schindelhauer has built its name on city bikes with clean lines, integrated details, and Gates Belt Drive systems instead of traditional chains. With Neo, the Berlin brand brings that formula into a smaller 20-inch format for the first time. The result is a compact urban bicycle made for apartments, trains, offices, elevators, and quick runs across town.
The frame uses a one-size-fits-most setup, designed for riders from 158 to 192 cm tall. That keeps the buying process simple and gives the bike a casual, shared-household appeal. One bike can work for different riders, different errands, and different days. The smaller wheels also make it quicker to handle in traffic and easier to store than a standard city bike.
Schindelhauer is offering Neo in three versions. The base Neo is the purist option: singlespeed, edelweiss finish, black components, integrated LightSKIN lighting, and a 9.8 kg weight. Neo Classic adds an 8-speed Shimano Alfine hub gear, raised handlebars, silver-polished components, and deep purple or titanium grey finishes. Neo Electric goes further with a Mahle XS system, X30 rear hub motor, removable battery, and a 6-speed Pinion C-Line gearbox.
All three models use the Gates Belt Drive, one of Schindelhauer’s long-running signatures. It is quiet, clean, low-maintenance, and better suited to daily city use than a traditional chain. Optional accessories include a rear pannier rack, front basket, and Klickfix adapter for bags and baskets. Prices start at €1,995 for Neo, €2,495 for Neo Classic, and €4,395 for Neo Electric.
Neo feels like a good move for Schindelhauer. It takes the brand’s usual strengths — clean lines, belt drive, integrated lighting, and a polished urban look — and puts them into a smaller bike that should make more sense for crowded city living.
