Lucky Custom is an artisan bike building and customization brand based in Córdoba, Argentina. The latest model to come through the workshop’s doors is ‘The Black King’, a customized and completely redesigned BMW R1150GS motorcycle. This dual-sport bike was originally designed to handle both on and off-roads, and it was given the ‘Best Sport Touring Bike’ award by Cycle World Magazine in 2000. To accentuate the adventure spirit of the bike, the Lucky Custom team enhanced its original features and used a black and warm brown color palette combined with gleaming accents and matte surfaces to also lend it a stylish vintage look. In terms of technical specs and modifications, the bike comes with an upgraded chassis, new LED lights, a stainless steel exhaust, Pro Taper handlebars and grips, and custom covers for the engine, ignition, tires, and exhaust. The seat is made of handcrafted leather with a worn finish and the entire motorcycle has a new coat of paint. The Black King certainly stands out, whether on the streets or through natural landscapes with rough terrain, where it will probably feel most at home. Photography by Raul Origlia.
