Design, Italians do it better

The Momento Desk Lamp

View all 8 Photos

A friendly appearance and a construction inspired by fishing rods make the Momento desk lamp stand out, but the design goes beyond the modern and creative aesthetic with an intuitive lighting positioning system that is meant to provide functionality and to encourage user interaction at the same time. Momento is designed for Normann Copenhagen by Daniel Debiasi and Federico Sandri, founders of the Something design studio which is based in London and Verona. It features the studio’s penchant for minimalism and clean lines, but also adds a dose of playfulness to bring a distinct creative accent meant to enhance the simplified form of a quintessential lamp. The construction features a stable base on which the tubular rod and dome can be rotated to suit the user’s needs, with an angled silhouette adding a dynamic appearance to the design. The light can be turned on and off by pushing the switch located at the base of the dome’s subtle crest. As elegant as it is practical, the Momento lamp was recently launched at the Maison & Objet 2016 fair in Paris and will be available online at the Normann Copenhagen website in four colorways. Perfect for minimalist workspaces.
