The Monster Family, Kitchen Helpers

View all 8 Photos

A few select kitchen staples now come in family size, representing mom, pop, and kiddos.  Monster Family is a collection of handcrafted oak pieces by Italian designer Andrea de Chirico. His inspiration began in the heart of the eccentric Monster Park of Bomarzo, Italy.
Mother’s name is Ophelia, the wall clock.  The sweet pendulum glides gracefully within the arch of this curvious clock.  Her face is without markings, simple and direct with limitless energy to get through each day.
Strong and sturdy, facilitating strike after strike of the knife blade is Otello, the father serving as the cutting board.  He takes the brunt of the work all day, providing generous portions for the family one plate at a time.

The children are Oscar the spice rack and Otto and Otilia two little tea towel holders. These guys are always bringing life, energy, and fun to the home.  The spice rack adds a touch of whimsy with curious drawers and openings.  Hang the basic hooks any which way you please within reach.  Their arrangement can bring an art form to a wall.

I find a way to fearlessly provoke your senses and take you by the heart to whatever it is I’m writing about. My sweet spot is creative writing, but for the last 20 years I have been providing freelance content for publications on sustainability and green practices, design, architecture, fashion, and non-profit charity. Recently all wrapped up in producing my first book. I have bounced from NYC to Indianapolis, but my true home is a lovely small town in Central Pennsylvania where there’s a legit drive-your-tractor-to-school-day.
