Inspired by art deco, this Tom Dixon outdoor furniture collection balances bold design with high-tech innovation.

Developed over the course of ten years, the first collection of outdoor furniture from British designer Tom Dixon stuns with its bold graphic expression that draws inspiration from the art deco style. Named Groove, the series comprises chairs, armchairs, stools, and dining tables with raised ridges in elegantly curved line patterns. The circular and oval grooves create a beautiful symmetry, while angled tubular elements add an organic touch to the designs. As exceptionally crafted as it is skillfully designed, this Tom Dixon outdoor furniture collection showcases the designer’s dedication to technical innovation. The range comes to life through the use of cutting-edge manufacturing techniques that maximize the potential of premium aluminum.

Past collaborations with high-tech company Trumpf and HYDRO, the world’s leader in aluminum production, have both contributed the technical know-how to make the designer’s concept a reality. “Over the past decade, we’ve constantly pushed the boundaries of design and engineering, and GROOVE represents the pinnacle of that journey,” says Tom Dixon.

Lightweight, durable, and ready for any weather.

While designed for outdoor spaces, the Groove collection also suits indoor use. However, these pieces of furniture truly shine when placed in a garden or on a terrace, with sunlight accentuating the raised ridges in a play of light and shadow. Made from corrosion-resistant aluminum, the chairs, stool and table also feature a durable and tough powder-coated finish to withstand the elements and look gorgeous for years. Additionally, the protective coating is VOC- and solvent-free.

Versatile and practical, the stylish Groove collection features a stool, a side chair, an armchair, and an oblong dining table. All of them come in two elegant colors: Moss and Putty. This Tom Dixon outdoor furniture range also includes cushions that add extra comfort, in a residential or a commercial setting. Finally, the designs optimize function with efficient stacking for convenient storage and a lightweight build for worry-free portability. Photography© Tom Dixon.
