Toure de Palma Wine Hotel

View all 11 Photos

Toure de Palma is a wine hotel in the Alentejo region of Portugal. Renovated by João Mendes Ribeiro, the Monforte, Portalegre resort now features a concrete-lined building where once there was a dilapidated barn. The updated spaces keeps the original shape while modernizing the structure and exterior. Additionally, the architect created new buildings to accommodate the many attractions of wine tourism. The hotel itself is a draw because of its fine details such as a clay-paved yard, white marble cobblestones, towers, courtyards, and rooms designed by color. Inside, guests will find a farm-to-table kitchen, a wine cellar, a library, and a spa. But the real wealth of activities lies outside. Adventurous travelers can explore the countryside by horse, bike, and air-balloon. Those who are curious to see the world close-up can take workshops and tours in the vineyard, olive grove, orchard, and meadows. The Toure de Palma experience is as rich and varied as a good glass of red. If you’re lucky enough to be there, why not try a little of everything?
