The Transparent Turntable

A minimalist, see-through turntable designed with a modular architecture that allows upgrades forever.

Stockholm-based audio brand Transparent aims to become the world’s first circular tech company. Following the principle of complete transparency, it also embraces the rules of sustainable design, making pioneering products that provide excellent sound in an eco-friendly way. Transparent creates modular speakers that allow easy upgrades indefinitely to help remove electronic waste.

The word “transparent” also refers to the audio quality of the brand’s products, which offer a rich, clear and authentic sound experience. Additionally, the brand uses recycled materials wherever possible and favors using extremely durable and recyclable aluminum and glass for its products. Last but certainly not least, the Transparent collection is minimalist to complement any space and to transcend interior design trends. The first vinyl record player from the brand’s collection, the Transparent Turntable embodies all of these ideas.

“This is a direct response to a demand from our community of music lovers. The Turntable is a harmonious addition to our existing lineup of speakers. It is designed to seamlessly integrate with our speakers providing a complete audio ecosystem that immerses you in music, connecting you intimately with your favorite artists and their creations,” says Per Brickstad, Creative Director at Transparent.

Elegant and versatile, the turntable enhances the audio experience while improving any decor.

Minimalist and simply beautiful, the turntable has a solid aluminum and tempered glass build that reimagines the classic vinyl record player as an interior design object. The modular design allows upgrades forever as technology evolves, enabling users to repair or upgrade small parts instead of buying another product. Apart from greatly prolonging the life of the product, this approach also reduces electronic waste.

Like all Transparent products, this one excels in tech features. The belt-driven turntable comes with a pre-mounted Ortofon cartridge that provides a balanced sound and a built-in amp with an on/off switch. Innovative technology also reduces ground loop noise. A Bluetooth 5.0 module provides an easy way to link the turntable to Transparent or other speakers without cables. Made from the same tempered glass, the dust cover comes with dampened hinges that keep it floating in mid air. Other features include an elliptical diamond stylus, nominal speeds of 33 ⅓ and 45 RPM, and a 3.5 mm port for digital optical and analogue signals. Available now at a price of $1,300, the Transparent Turntable comes in two versions: White and Black. Photographs © Transparent.
