The Twinkle Lamp

A creative table lamp inspired by fairy tales.

Based in Seoul, Korea, designer Jong-su Kim founded his own studio after working for years as an art director. Established in 2013, the ilsangisang design studio produces lighting, decorative, and functional products for contemporary interiors. The designer’s work has a dreamlike quality, drawing inspiration from the essence of nature and ordinary objects to bring a creative accent to living spaces. The Twinkle Lamp is a perfect example.

Whimsical and distinctive, the lamp features slender rods that support the shade. The design references fairy tales and the depiction of rays of light in a child’s drawing. At the same time, the lamp draws inspiration from the twinkling of the stars which only becomes visible at night. As a result, the table lamp becomes a decorative object thanks to an eye-catching design that captures one’s attention at a glance.

The Twinkle Lamp features a powder-coated steel shape in Off Black or Light Beige, with heat-resistant plastic supports. It also comes with a light bulb that illuminates with a warm-white glow. In a similar way to ilsangisang’s other products, the Twinkle Lamp aims to make living spaces more playful as well as more magical. Photographs© ilsangisang.
