Dissatisfied with the available keyboard stands on market, Mikael Jorgensen of band Wilco turned to designer François Chambard of UM Project for a little bit of vision and creativity. The UMJ-1 custom keyboard stand isn’t just, but transforms into a natural carrying case for the keyboard as well as doubles as a table for off-tour hours. The two-tiered stand sufficiently accommodates angling and height adjustments and the thick wooden legs are easily snapped into place for quick assembly. And for long practice hours, Chambard has also designed a matching bench upholstered in a bright red for a little bit of attitude. The set of keyboard stand and bench is metaphorically music to Jorgensen’s ears!
