A cold November rain and an expensive yet ineffective wool winter coat have led to the creation of Welter Shelter, an all-weather outerwear brand. Based in Amsterdam, the company produces its high quality and innovative jackets all across Europe, using only premium materials. Italian cotton, Scottish wool blends and ecological wool from Patagonia are enhanced by a three-layer membrane which makes them 100% waterproof, wind resistant, but also breathable. For the Spring/Summer 2016 collection, the company found an ingenious solution to transform waxed cotton into a completely waterproof material, working with British Millerain to coat the fabrics with a MILAIR technical membrane which also features taped seams underneath the outer layer. Along with Italian cotton mixes, the new materials provide maximum breathability and comfort, as well as full weather-resistance through fierce winds or relentless rain. The collection features minimalist and stylish designs, including a modern interpretation of the classic bomber jacket. The Long Bomber, just like its name suggests, is lengthened for better protection against the elements. The Two Faced Long Dong combines two blue tones in a more unconventional design, while the Long Dong trench for men and the Long Tube jacket for women have been remade in lighter fabrics, to suit warmer spring weather and summer rains. The new SS16 range illustrates the brand’s dedication for providing chic designs, warmth, comfort, and waterproof protection in each and every jacket. Images courtesy of Welter Shelter.
