Casa CM is a mostly self-made project by Paolo Carlesso in Fagnano Olona, Italy. Standing two stories tall, not including the attic and basement, the spacious home was designed to make the most of its materials in order to be sustainable, cost-effective, and family-friendly. The house’s structure is made of steel, and the gray facade is fashioned from eco-fiber cement. The square windows can be covered from the outside with interlocking wooden panels, and there is a slatted entryway crafted from the same warm color of wood. Just below, the narrow porch is lined with a darker shade of timber. Inside the home, multiple small staircases create several nooks and give dimension to the overall space. Aside from its many levels, the interior is rather simple with the walls and floors lined in the same wood, a budget-conscious and visually pleasing choice.
