A playfully creative twist on watch design.

Following on the footsteps of the Hidden Time and Order watches, Hong Kong-based Anicorn has launched a new chapter in the Trio of Time (TTT) project. The series explores perceptions of time from the point of view of different designers from different cities around the world. The new Redundant watch marks the brand’s second design in NYC. Created by Ji Lee, Communications Director at Facebook and a former designer and creative director Google Creative Lab, the watch recreates the designer’s original Redundant clock concept, but in the form of a playful wristwatch.

The dial has no numbers, only hands. Around the edge of the face, the still hands mark the hour of the day. At the center, the moving hands indicate the current hour and minute. The Anicorn x Redundant watch comes with a unisex 40mm stainless steel case in black or silver. Inside, there’s a Miyota GL20 Japanese movement. The top boasts a scratch-resistant mineral cover, while the casing measures only 7.5mm in thickness. Interchangeable straps in black, brown, and white leather provide an easy solution to adapt the watch to different outfits. Milanese mesh straps in silver and black are also available.

Anicorn has launched the new Redundant watch through Kickstarter. The early bird package offers savings of $140 compared to the future retail price, but all backer packages come with free worldwide shipping. The campaign ends on July 28, 2019. Photographs© Anicorn Watches.
