Spending a night in a cargo container might sound like a tedious experience, but not at this Mallorca Bed and Breakfast. The getaway in Spain is comprised of three recycled containers by prefab, a renovation job from Espai Fly. The wood-clad rectangular volumes are organized around a small dining terrace and pool, over which a private bedroom sits accessible by a black spiral staircase. The bright red accents of furniture, wooden interiors, and floor-to-ceiling glazing brings light and airiness to the temporary stay, an appropriate ambiance for the island. Through this project, Espai Fly proposes a new methodology of easy, cost-efficient construction for small and local businesses.
