Montauk Lakeside Home

View all 23 Photos

The Montauk Lake House by Robert Young Architects is an expansive property at the tip of New York’s South Fork. The plot includes a spacious main house, a guesthouse, a barn, and a lap pool. From the outside, the domestic buildings are unified by their gabled roofs and cedar shingles cladding. Inside, each reveals painted pine floors in gray and walls and rafters in white. The neutral palette lets the sweeping views of greenery take the focus, even indoors. Outside, the water beckons, the lawn shines, and elements such as the private playground and terraced garden welcome the residents to step outdoors and call it all “home.”
