New Hôtel Droog by Droog Design

Hotel Droog is located in Amsterdam amidst the canals and historic richness, the museums and curious coffee shops.  The hotel by Droog has a dining room, a clothing store, a cosmetic shop, a lounge, a gallery, tranquil gardens, and one lonely guest room.  There is nothing comparable to this cultural hotspot in the entire city. Inspiring fun, encouraging a movement on new culture in Amsterdam, the Droog Hotel has everything to get everyone talking. Modern and thoughtful, the punches of blue against a dominantly white room create a cool, crisp dining experience. The large windows and high ceilings with beautiful exposed beams are appealing to the senses.

Kabinet is the featured boutique offering exquisite design brand products including luxury apparel, jewelry, accessories, and fragrance.  Enjoy this intimate shopping experience with the handiwork of successful stylist Ferry van der Nat.

Cosmania offers many natural beauty solutions.  Created by Marije Hoff and Marcel Dekker, it is a cosmetic shop full of quality brands based on “purity, responsible ingredients, clever production processes and eco-packaging.”

Nestled in the courtyard is a Fairy Garden growing plants that attract butterflies, birds and other wildlife designed by Claude Paaquer and Corinne Detroyat. Even though it only has one guest room, the hotel’s goal is to give a cultural experience throughout the building by anyone intrigued.  In hopes that people will find a new interest in cultural design, the idea is to facilitate a scene where they can linger, shop, explore and “talk amongst themselves.”

I find a way to fearlessly provoke your senses and take you by the heart to whatever it is I’m writing about. My sweet spot is creative writing, but for the last 20 years I have been providing freelance content for publications on sustainability and green practices, design, architecture, fashion, and non-profit charity. Recently all wrapped up in producing my first book. I have bounced from NYC to Indianapolis, but my true home is a lovely small town in Central Pennsylvania where there’s a legit drive-your-tractor-to-school-day.
