The Salvatori Ellipse Collection by John Pawson

Minimalist marble objects inspired by smooth river pebbles.

Internationally-renowned designer and architect John Pawson is the spiritual father of warm minimalism. His award-winning work spans a wide range of disciplines, from lighting, furniture, and product design to architecture. Designed for Italian brand Salvatori, the Ellipse collection features Pawson’s signature style and masterful use of natural materials. Like the W223 Table Lamp he designed for Wästberg, this range makes the most of a noble material: white Carrara marble.

Unsurprisingly, the Ellipse collection comprises understated and practical as well as timeless designs. The vessels, bowls and kitchen accessories all feature soft curves and beautifully rounded lines. Alongside the use of marble, the shapes reference the smooth surfaces and organic forms of river pebbles that have been shaped by the flow of water over time. Each object from the Ellipse range is crafted from one single piece of Carrara marble. As a result, every item is one-of-a-kind and features unique textures and line patterns. Expressive and elegantly minimalist, the products include a range of vessels, trays, bowls, and coasters as well as a mortar and pestle set, wine cooler, tealight holder, soap dish, and a salt and pepper set.
