The And by Page Tsou

View all 9 Photos

Going against the grain, Page Tsou is a portrait artist who decided to draw with a back of the head view titled The And.  The video is a creative take on this project with a broad range of backs from mothers arms full with their flowing hair, to servicemen in uniform with tight caps and shaved heads. It was put on with the help of Juriaan Booij as director, camera and editor.
Each back of the head drawing is careful to accentuate every strand out of place from a messy bun and every flaw, exposing bald spots or shaggy looks in need of a trim. The idea is courageous to challenge us to appreciate the portrait from this different point of view. That is what makes a good artist, someone who inspires us to think in a new way, to see life at angles we wouldn’t have thought to on our own.
