The Scribe’s House by Pablo Lehmann

View all 8 Photos

There is nothing quite as nostalgically haunting as the smell of old books and their worn, yellowing pages. In Pablo Lehmann’s forthcoming installation, The Scribe’s House, the Argentinean artist captures this sensation and magnifies it to a transforming proportion. The apartment-sized space is completely furnished and decorated with old pages in varying shades of white, yellow, and brown. The bed, bathtub, and curtains all quietly display text, and the overpowering volume of words literally papers the entirety of the rooms. A culmination of two years of Lehmann’s efforts, The Scribe’s House will be open for visitors at Art Basel in Miami in early December.
