Wireless Omnidirectional Steel Speaker by Joey Roth

View all 8 Photos

Made in Oregon by American Industrial designer Joey Roth, this wireless omnidirectional speaker amplifies sound through simple geometry. Steel, aluminum, and maple construction contribute to both form and function in this elegantly engineered piece. At the base of the steel enclosure sits a hardwood ball which acts as a natural diffuser while the upper port has been designed to extend bass response. Roth’s minimal aesthetic – something for which the designer has become well-known – gives these speakers monumental sound. Soft-spoken yet incredibly bold, the straight-forward piece demonstrates an honest approach to design, liberating products from unnecessary pomp and frills. With a focus on the essentials of material and function, the Steel Speaker embodies a universal design philosophy conducive to modern life.
