Simply named House in Trakai, this contemporary country home was built in Trakai, Lithuania. The AKETURI ARCHITEKTAI design is clad in thermowood and shale so that it requires little upkeep. The triangular rooftop naturally drains water, and the porch and wood storage are tucked underneath the structure, where they stay as dry as possible. Additionally, there is a series of square windows cut into the slope of the roof, so that the upper floor sees plenty of natural lighting. Inside, the floors are lined with naturally finished wood and the walls and ceiling are painted white. In the living area, there stands a central fireplace and chimney, which accents the rural aspect of the architecture and connects indoor leisure to outdoor activity.
