A sleek and minimalist bike inspired by the purebred Akhal-Teke horse.

Many bikes aim to evoke a sense of motion with dynamic designs, but the new Akhal Shadow bike is in a league of its own. Designed by London-based studio Extans, this limited-edition bicycle draws inspiration from an unlikely source: the Akhal-Teke, one of the rarest purebred horses in the world. Refined and futuristic, the bike has a harmonious silhouette and elegant lines that embody movement. The bespoke design aims to redefine the perception of contemporary bikes with its bold character and artistic soul. Safe to say, this sophisticated bike turns heads wherever it goes.

The handmade Akhal Shadow blends traditional craftsmanship and new technology. It features a lightweight rigid carbon fiber monocoque frame that provides excellent vibration reduction as well as great lateral stiffness. CNC machined from a single aluminum billet, the other structural parts elevate the build’s precision and attention to detail to a new level. The stylish Fabric Scoop Pro saddle enhances both the user’s riding comfort and the bike’s graceful style.

Other features include Shimano Dura Ace front and rear brakes, a full carbon wheelset, Pirelli P Zero tires, a single-speed Gates Carbon Drive CDX transmission, and a Shimano Alfine crankset. A Volcano black coating and black chrome plating complete the design. A Shine edition with a Silversand white coating and bright chrome plating is also available. Handmade in England, the high-end Akhal Shadow bike is limited to only 99 pieces. Prices for both the Shadow and the Shine editions are available on request. Photographs© Extans.
