An Elegant And Practical Pen That Will Last A Lifetime

View all 6 Photos

When designer Rick Powell realized he had lost or broken most of his pens, he decided to create his ideal writing and drawing instrument. The Pen was born. Handcrafted from brass or aluminum, the minimalist pens have a sleek design and an ingenious construction. Both ends feature magnets inside the lids, so they’ll be hard to lose or misplace. The raw finish ensures that the pens will gain a tarnished and buffed appearance enhanced by frequent use, thus becoming one-of-a-kind and truly special for the owner.

Powell crafts each pen by hand in his own studio, using a mini Clarke lathe, and he also offers a customization service to those who prefer a unique pen. Past bespoke orders include adding thin bands on the surface of the metal, a Morse code, or even a client’s name translated into a barcode format. If you want to order your own pen that you’ll probably use and love for a lifetime, go to the designer’s website. Every handmade pen is made to order, with prices starting at £195, or around $240.
