Vagabund Moto opened its doors in 2015 with the goal to enhance the character of vintage motorcycles and create “pieces of art.” Fast forward to 2017, and this young custom bike workshop already has plenty of fans and admirers in the industry. And you just have to take a glance at their latest design -a gorgeous BMW cafe racer – to understand why.
This custom BMW R100R Cafe Racer stuns with its minimalist good looks as well as with its creative design. Nicknamed ‘The Whale’ by designer Paul Brauchart and engineer Philipp Rabl, the bike features an eye-catching hand-shaped tank that flows in an elegant line to form the seat. This beauty also boasts a built-in taillight as well as a new front mudguard and headlight shell. On the top of the tank, a clear acrylic panel covers the minimal Motogadget speedo, while a bespoke hinge system offers access to a hidden compartment underneath. Here, a hand-sewn leather tray provides storage space for a few accessories, kept out of sight. Other features include a custom exhaust system, an embossed leather seat pad, and stainless steel spokes with black powder-coated rims. ‘The Whale’ made its debut at this year’s Moto Circus Festival in Vienna.
