A true icon of the 1960s, the Braun “Wandanlage” wall unit designed by the legendary Dieter Rams has been restored to mint condition.
While often overused, the word “iconic” still applies to pretty much everything the legendary designer Dieter Rams has created. This is especially true when the design in question is the Braun Wandanlage wall-mounted HiFi unit from 1965. Available through Wauw Belgium, a dealer of mid-century modern furniture, lighting and art, this vintage gem has been carefully restored and brought back to an authentic, pristine condition. One of the most sought-after vintage audio systems, the Wall Unit Stereo is also part of design history, making it a must-have for a variety of collectors.
Like all Dieter Rams creations, the Braun Wandanlage wall unit stereo exudes functional clarity. Minimalist and innovative as well as beautifully crafted, it’s as much a design object as it is a complete audio system. It features a radio, amplifier, reel to reel tape machine, record player, and speakers. A Vitsoe shelf holds the turntable, while a bottom space offers room for a vinyl collection. Extremely rare, this Braun Wandanlage wall unit comes in a pristine condition. Restored with care by a specialist, the technical features and advanced audio components offer excellent sound quality.
Christmas has come early this year for fans of Dieter Rams, collectors of vintage Braun electronics, and lovers of 1960s design. The Braun Wandanlage Wall Unit Stereo by Dieter Rams is currently still available on the Wauw Belgium website. Photographs© Wauw Belgium.
