A transparent turntable that blends stylish design with cutting-edge performance.

Inspired by Dieter Rams‘ famous Braun PC3-SV record player from 1955, the Gearbox MKII features a transparent case that offers a clear view of the components. The turntable follows on the footsteps of the successful Gearbox Automatic design. This version keeps the same aesthetic of the original, but adds some new features to provide better audio performance.

The MKII features an upgraded belt drive designed with a lightweight aluminum pulley; as a result, it provides superior speed stability. Upgraded electronics improve all-round performance, while the accompanying Gearbox app is now even easier to use. In a world first, the turntable features a built-in high-fidelity phono stage that works specifically with the included Ortofon OM10 moving magnet cartridge. Thus, the user can plug the turntable into any line input and listen to music without any extra set-up needed.

Apart from these features, the MKII also has wireless connectivity and on-board music recognition technology. This means that users can listen vinyls on Bluetooth wireless speakers. Furthermore, they can easily transfer a vinyl collection to Spotify or other steaming services. Other features of the Gearbox MKII turntable include a glass platter, 33 rpm and 45 rpm compatibility, and RCA plugs for wired output. Plus, the compact size makes this stylish turntable conveniently portable as well as easy to install in a smaller space. Photographs© Gearbox Records.
