Design, Italians do it better

Olla Lamp Davide Giulio Aquini

View all 8 Photos

The Olla Lamp, crafted by Davide Giulio Aquini, is part of the Matera Collection produced by Ilide, an Italian light design manufacturer. Made of brown and white bands of terracotta, the hanging lamp draws inspiration from simpler times. Its spool shape, for instance, is reminiscent of traditional earthenware bowls. The piece crosses over past and present, nature and culture, earth and fire, evoking associations far beyond its most basic function.
