A minimalist design that pays homage to a classic chair.

Inspired by the Swedish design classic, the Orkesterstolen created by Sven Markelius, the PINNE 04 Chair also celebrates the beauty of Japanese minimalism. Stockholm-based design firm All Matters Studio developed the chair as a timeless piece of furniture that offers a fresh take on the renowned design. Suitable for homes and public settings in equal measure, the chair has a strong presence thanks to its distinctive shape. An asymmetric detail on the backrest adds a creative accent while also providing convenient support for a bag. Crafted from solid oak sourced from European forests, the chair comes with a natural finish or a custom finish treatment.

Apart from its good-looks, the design also highlights the elegant functionality of Swedish furniture. This chair stacks several chairs high; it not only saves space in a room but also creates an eye-catching focal point as the simple frames create an almost decorative geometric composition when brought together. The studio makes every PINNE 04 Chair to order and produces the design locally, in Uppsala. That way, the team minimizes waste and keeps the design as sustainable as possible. Finally, All Matters Studio offers free shipping within Europe. Photographs © Andy Liffner.
