Designed to make the lives of urban cyclists and commuters easier, the Steer Carrier brings together two bike elements into one practical product. Its stylish and minimalist design also ensures that it looks good on virtually any bicycle. Created by Dutch industrial designer Jan Aart Bergshoeff, Steer Carrier combines a set of handlebars with a convenient luggage carrier. It can be installed in a low or high position; the former ensures a more relaxed ride, while the latter suits sports riding and higher speeds. By using spacers or adjusting the stem vertically, owners can also refine the mounting position of the unit.

Made of aluminum, the product is lightweight, won’t rust and will last longer than steel, bringing peace of mind that it will look fantastic for years. The carrier has a maximum weight capacity of around 26 pounds, which means that it can hold anything from groceries to heavier bags. The handlebars come with mushroom grips for more comfort. Steer Carrier is available in black, silver and white. Easy to recycle, it also comes in minimal packaging to reduce its environmental impact. Photography by Boris Bergshoeff.
