Meet the world’s first gravel folding bike.

Vienna-based company VELLO Bikes specializes in lightweight, folding bicycles designed for urban cyclists. Created by product designer Valentin Vodev, the VELLO line combines innovative technology with contemporary design and practical features that solve various challenges found in city environments. All VELLO products boast the company’s custom folding mechanism but come in various designs and with components that suit different riding styles. The brand’s bikes have received many awards, including the Red Dot Award “Best of the Best” and the Good Design award. Now, the company has launched a mini velo that also marks an important milestone. VELLO Gravel is the first foldable gravel bike in the world; it made its debut at the Pro Days in Paris in July 2021 before appearing at EUROBICO in Frankfurt.

VELLO Gravel blends the convenience of a foldable bike with the performance of an off-road bicycle. The bike folds to a compact size, to either fit into a car or make train rides easier. Suitable for everyday use as well, VELLO Gravel comes with frame mounting points to attach front or rear racks. Users can also install mudguards for longer rides. The bike features a multi-size frame in a unisex design and an anthracite color, dropdown handlebars, a Selle Royal saddle, a non-electric 10-gear Shimano 105 series gear system, disc brakes, 20’’ tires, and full aluminum folding pedals. Crafted in a limited series, the VELLO Gravel bike will be available from Fall 2021. Photography© VELLO Bikes.
