A compact and versatile chair inspired by 19th-century campaign furniture.

Co-founded by multi-disciplinary design studio Yabu Pushelberg, departo is a homeware brand that makes versatile products for modern living spaces and modern lifestyles. Their new Folding Chair marries Scandinavian and Japanese style in a compact design that suits virtually any space. Inspired by the campaign furniture of the end of the 19th-century, the chair has a simple but distinctive appearance. It boasts clean lines and a utilitarian structure to offer a fresh alternative to classic designs. At the same time, it has a minimal footprint, whether folded in storage or opened completely.

The chair features a steel frame and a canvas seat as well as ash wood legs and a wood backrest. Thank to the quality materials, the chair suits both indoor and outdoor use. A leather handle makes carrying the lightweight Folding Chair as easy as possible, whether you want to take it out to a balcony or move it from the car to the beach. Each handcrafted product takes 13 hours to complete. For more convenience, the chair requires no extra tools for assembly. The Folding Chair comes in Light Ash and Dark Ash versions, both available at a price of $295.
