The Shelter Desk

Minimalist, elegant, and practical, this desk is perfect for home offices.

With an unprecedented number of people working from home, now and in the foreseeable future, finding the perfect desk for a compact office space is more important than ever before. Both young, independent designers and established design studios have risen up to the challenge. The Shelter desk by João Teixeira is a great example of home office furniture design done right. Elegantly minimalist but made with function in mind, the desk boasts rounded forms and a slender silhouette.

The fully aligned angles, clean lines, and curved edges create a fluid, dynamic design. The design puts a focus on convenience, offering a range of storage solutions to keep a workspace clutter-free. And there’s also plenty of room for a minimalist desk lamp. While ultra-slim, the three front drawers can easily hold gadgets, a tablet, a laptop, and writing or drawing tools. The Shelter desk also features a back drawer that keeps cables hidden from view and provides an easy way to organize chargers.

Made with angled legs, the desk has a curved top that perfectly complements modern chair designs. Finally, the wooden build ensures that Shelter will stand up to the test of time and look gorgeous for years to come. Photographs© João Teixeira.
