A table collection inspired by the magic of theater.

Designed by Italian architecture and industrial design studio 967 Arch for furniture brand Saba Italia, the Teatro Magico (Magic Theater) collection brings a dramatic accent into living spaces. The table series draws inspiration from theater curtains and the magic moment when they part to reveal the stage. Creative and contemporary, the concept also celebrates Saba’s heritage and years of crafting upholstered furniture. As a result, the tables feature a sculptural detail: adjustable bases designed to resemble soft fabric. The sinuous shapes mirror the curved forms of a textile curtain while also creating a play between light and shadow. The flexible design allows the user to divide the base into two columns and thus alter the way the table looks.

Launched at the same time with the reopening of Teatro Regio in Turin, the collection made its debut with a photo series taken in the theater’s beautifully designed interiors, completed by Carlo Mollino. The Teatro Magico collection comprises tables in different sizes and with either round of oval tops. While the hefty polyurethane bases have fluid, undulating forms, the tops feature clean curved lines and a thin build. Saba Italia offers the tables in monochromatic colors and finishes, in neutral hues that complement any color palette. The tables suit both residential and commercial or hospitality spaces. Regardless of location, they become the centerpiece of dining rooms, kitchens, meeting rooms, or restaurants. Photography© Stefan Giftthaler, Beppe Brancato, Saba Italia.
