“Pig on the Wings” Stool by Gentle Giants

View all 7 Photos

Though the name may be a little curious, “Pigs on the Wings” Stool brings a little pizzazz to the ordinary seat through its efficient construction. Design by Gentle Giants, the poplar wood stool surprises with only two legs supporting the surface of the seat, which takes an unconventional form of a rounded rectangle. The two legs – each formed by two pieces of wood intersecting at a halving joint – are porcine, for they spread to form a hoof-like base for stability and balance. The paintjob on the stool also contributes to the piece’s anthropomorphic quality, as the bright bursts of color stop prematurely at the feet of the stool.
