A collection that brings together modern design and age-old techniques.

Created by the Raak design studio for high-end natural stone brand Van den Weghe, the Pilar furniture collection melds traditional techniques and contemporary design. The range aims to highlight the dialogue between sensual, organic forms and abstract volumes. The name puts an emphasis on the simple pillars, which become the foundation for the elegant shades and tabletops.

A tribute to artisanal skill, the table lamp and tables combine glassblowing and stone working techniques with modern metalworking and LED technology. The warm glow of the lamp puts shines a light on the premium materials and the shade’s form. At the same time, the tables’ different dimensions bring a creative accent into modern living spaces when used together. Apart from their contrasting volumes, the products also feature a play between different materials. The lamp boasts a marble pillar base and a glass shade, while the tables feature perforated metal bases and marble tops. Pilar is a furniture collection that complements any interior with its minimalist design and creative use of volumes and textures. Different stone colors are also available for all the products in this range. Photographs© Raak and Van Den Weghe.
